Cool Tool

Just thought I'd share a cool tool I've been using. It's called Poster. It allows you to turn your photos, or scrapbook pages ;) into giant posters using your home printer. Its really easy to use and cheap. You can print up to 10 posters before you are expected to pay only $18. You can determine the size of the poster in inches or pages. You can add text and shapes right in the program. Then you simply print the pages out and put them together like a puzzle. The first time I used this program was to make a life size cut out of my niece for her birthday party. Boy was it a hit! You can buy life size cut out in some birthday catalogs for around $80, in searching prices on the net I found them as high as $270 plus shipping! This is a very fun tool that can be used to make fun posters for graduation, birthday parties, showers, anniversaries, I could go on and on. You can find out more about Poster at their site http://www.postersw.com/

Here is a picture of the cutout I did. It was a last minute thing so I just used cardboard that I had on hand from a box. If you weren't so pressed for time you could really make a great photo cutout.

That's about it. I will not be release my new kit until we return from our trip so after tomorrow you wont find anything in my auctivia store until we get back.

Its still Friday to me!

Since I haven't gone to bed yet I its still Friday! lol! I was going to release my latest kit Sunday but just remembered we are going out of town later next week and will not have Internet access so I'm debating listing anything on ebay this week. I could just do a 3 or 5 day auction. I guess it will depend on what I have going on tomorrow. I still plan on giving away a free digital scrapbook kit on Monday so never fear your freebies will be here!
I was feeling generous just now so I thought I'd throw a freebie at you right now! The polka dot frame pictured in the layout above! This frame looks great with the red paper and tags from the Play All Day kit!

Freebie no longer available. Thanks!
Have a great weekend!
All items pictured in layout are created by Rachel Clark. Red paper, tags and metal element are from the Play all day digital scrapbooking kit. Special Thanks to atomic cupcake! Font used a yummy apology.

12X12 Printing

Hello again!

Yesterday I received my first order from Scrapbooksplease.com! They had a sale last week 99cents for their standard matte 12x12 printing so I thought I'd try them out. I am very pleased with the quality of the prints. They also sent me samples of the other papers they print on. Premium Luster and Premium matte are the best, just beautiful. They sent a sample of glossy but nothing really seems glossy about it to me. It has a little more sheen to it than the standard matte but not much. The premium luster is the most glossy. The colors of the premium luster and matte seem better than the standard papers. Well after going over their pricing it does seem to be true you get what you pay for. Premium Luster prints at 12x12 are $4.99 plus shipping. Premium Matte is $3.49, standard glossy is $2.49, and standard matte is $1.99. If cost is and issue to you I would totally go with the standard matte. While it is the cheapest the quality is still great. I would actually stay away from the standard glossy it doesn't seem as crisp and clean. The only real difference I can see between the standard matte and Premium Luster is the sheen. The premium luster does seem a little thicker, but if you are putting your layouts in albums I don't think it would make much difference.

Well that's all for now!

My first blog

Well I am really excited! This is my first official blog! I am just getting started as a digital scrapbook designer. I made a few kits and I am currently selling them on ebay. Not really sure where to go from here. Just taking it one day at a time. I actually have a lot of ideas but finding the time to do them is another thing.
I just started scrapbooking traditionally in Jan of 2006. It was my sister Amy who got me into it (you'll probably be seeing some of her work soon ;)
I didn't even scrap for myself. I made pages to send to my grandparents of my children as a way to keep in touch. I can't remember exactly how I discovered digital scrapbooking. But it was within a few months and boy was I hooked! I absolutely love it and wish I would have discovered it sooner. I started trying to create my own embellishments and paper in the fall of 2006. It wasn't until i got pse 4 in Feb of this year and a few months of trying to figure the program out that I really started to tackle creating kits.
Well that's a little bit about me.
I plan to post freebies that coordinate with my kits here, some layouts and lots of other stuff so check back often. My goal is to put out a new kit each week so there should always be something new to see here.

Here is my first freebie for you! A quick page that goes with my first digital scrapbook kit LILAC THYME. Just insert your picture and text and your done!

Thats all for now see ya tomorrow!
